When you live out in the countryside in Japan, you’ll be lucky to find any sort of labeling with “gluten-free” on it, especially when it comes to crepes. Oftentimes, owners of restaurants will start to break into a sweat and breathe heavy stressful sighs whenever you ask them to make a meal gluten-free. Never did I think that I would ever come upon a magical place like this in my prefecture. A gluten-free cafe in Chiba?! That’s unheard of. At Magentarth, they only<\/em> make gluten-free crepes and I wanted to cry with happiness when my husband first took me here as a surprise. My husband is a truck driver and just happened to pass by this cute gem while he was driving for work. Now, we go here enough that the owner of this cafe knows our faces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Magentarth’s menu has a wide selection of crepes in sweet and savory flavors but the choices are fairly simple. I highly<\/strong> recommend the seasonal specials<\/strong>. The owner and people who work at this cafe don’t speak English but they’re very friendly and they always create beautiful crepes that are equally as delicious to eat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

*Just be aware that these (if you probably haven’t already gathered that these are rice flour based) are not<\/strong> paleo or dairy-free. If you’re gluten-free and would just like a fun treat, this is such a cute place to go. They also serve homemade consume with their lunch sets and that is also gluten-free. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the crepe selection, Magentarth also creates gorgeous crepe cakes<\/strong> and you can order one for whatever occasion you need it for. Last year I bought one for Christmas and it was both delicately beautiful and delicious!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As I mentioned before, just skip the regular menu and go for the seasonal menu if you’re craving something sweet. They tend to have the most volume of food for the same price as a regular crepe and come with extra cream, different flavors of creams, and other goodies like extra cakes or a doughnut for the Halloween kabocha crepe.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
